Planners spend considerable time negotiating with hotels, meeting venues, and a host of providers. Frustration sets in when one party changes its initial position, is non-communicative, or won't yield during negotiations. Sound familiar?
The topic of "negotiations" has been frequently raised by members of our community. So let's examine it.
In this session, we turn to academics who have studied negotiations, worked with those who negotiate, and have the data to back up their recommendations. We'll crowd-source real-world situations that you've encountered (without naming names!) and examine whether varying approaches would have affected the outcome. Could you have handled a negotiation differently?
Join our panelists and participate in an insightful conversation among planners and suppliers. Let's come away with a few new tactics.
Will you share a situation that you – and maybe others – have experienced? It could be from the planner side or the supplier side. What was the hurdle during the negotiation? Was the person on the other side difficult or inexperienced? Did they back out of something that was agreed to in writing? Send a brief description to us in advance at info@flex-planners.com so our panel members can prepare to discuss it. No persons or negotiating organizations will be identified.
